Photo Size and DPI Requirements:

The resolution of your photo will determine the quality of your MagneticPix.  Simply put, if you use a low resolution photo, you’ll get a low resolution MagneticPix.

Resolution is measured by DPI (dots per inch.)  To provide you with the highest quality MagneticPix we like to see at least 75 DPI at the final output.  Pictures of insufficient resolution are the biggest problem we face.  Please use the below guidelines in choosing your photo for MagneticPix.

Also, because MagneticPix feature Gallery Wrapped Edges – there is a 3/4 inch perimeter of your photo that will be wrapped around the edge of the MagneticPix.

  • Our Small board  (11”x14.5”) needs at least 938  x 1200 pixels
  • Our Medium Board  (14.5” x 22”) needs at least 1200  x 1763 pixels
  • Our Large Board  (22”x33”) needs at least 1763  x 2588 pixels

So what if you don’t know how many pixels are in your photo – how do pixels relate to the size of a picture?

Of course it’s not black & white – but a typical 2 megapixel digital picture is about 1200 x 1600 pixels.

Remember the higher resolution photo you upload the higher resolution MagneticPix you will get!!

We will contact you if we don’t think your picture will look good at the size you want.
